I’ve always been a make-up obsessive but I’ve never blogged about it until now! The High Street is enjoying a real heyday in affordable make-up and budget brands right now and I’m feeling the urge to share some personal recommendations. (I’m also envious of today’s youth who will never know the frustration of elusive matte black eye shadow, or the abject disappointment of poor quality cheap lippy).
So without further ado, here are my top five current beauty buys for under £5:
1– Sleek Blusher in Rose Gold £4.49 – A best seller compared to Nars Orgasm and better than Benefit’s La Bella Bamba
2– Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit £4.99 – The Pinky-Brown Nude liquid to matte formula, Cashmere Velvetine anyone?
3– Make Up Revolution- Essential Shimmers £4.00 – Collecting all the best neutral shimmers from their Naked dupe palettes.
4– Make Up Revolution- Iconic Elements £4.00 – All the best neutral mattes and more inspired by the Naked palettes
5– Sleek- True Colour Matte Lipstick in Russian Roulette £4.99 – A long-lasting matte lipstick in warm red, a dupe for Mac Viva Glam I, a personal favourite (or try shade ‘Stiletto’ for a Mac Ruby Woo alternative).
Yes, these picks come from only two brands but both are deserving of the online hype. These low-cost duplicates for cult products are becoming as sought after as their luxury counterparts. And who wouldn’t want to try a £4 alternative to a £40 eye-shadow palette, or pay £4.99 instead of £29.99 to try out the latest liquid-to-matte lipstick trend?
This is not a sponsored post in any way, (although I’d be happy if it was!). I just really wanted to write about make-up! These items are tried and tested favourites from my personal collection and I got a kick out of wanting to share. Perhaps you’ll find a new a cult product of your own here! What bargain buy are you loving on the high street right now?
