My Note Book Addiction

I read somewhere that you know you’re a writer if you collect notebooks. And I’ve kept notebooks, sketchbooks and diaries going back decades now. However I’ve only recently begun caring what these books look like. I used black spiral bound notebooks for years almost exclusively so I could tear out any offending pages, saving special notebooks ‘for good’ (meaning I’d never use them). Now I’m slowly breaking that hording habit by actually writing in the prettiest books I own, and perhaps in some ways learning to value my thoughts as much as the books that hold them.

Note books

Preferred Credentials: hard back, A5, unruled, unbleached, tactile. Bonus features: back pocket and ribbon, elastic closure.

Places to buy: Tescos, Asda, The Works.
One of a kind: Monsieur Notebook (engraved leather), hand covered Liberty Stile print

Do you have a special item you like to hoard? Maybe you keep notebooks too, or beads, or decorative boxes even? I’d love to see them!

  1. Ah I love notebooks, but like you I always save them for a special occasion that never seems to come up. You’ve inspired me to try and break that habbit!

    1. Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one Kelsey. I think the real joy is in using them though. Go on, you can do it! 🙂
