Pink Holiday Hair & Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and welcome to my first post of 2015, I thought I’d celebrate by sharing some pics of my pink Holiday Hair!

Geen Geenie Pink 2014

I’m notorious for making terrible hair decisions in January. I don’t know if it’s because my winter S.A.D is in full swing but I often feel down around Xmas and New Year resulting identity crises and hair disasters. The last few years have been particularly bad and featured ‘style’ choices ranging from severe cuts and colours that take a long time to grow out or reverse. (Think very dark hair and ‘pixie’ cuts.) I even had it shaved pretty tight at the back at the start of 2013, I was gung-ho with the razors and I nearly did myself a bald spot mischief.

So I’m quite proud of myself for having a chilled, relaxed and happy holiday season this year while not doing anything terrible to my hair !!! My base colour is a light ash blonde so it took a temporary wash in- wash out colour very easily. My pink tint lasted about two weeks (and I could have left it longer but i desperately needed to freshen my roots), and I added hints of violet , (which seems to be the last thing to wash out, I currently have a lilac accent to my hair.) And I enjoyed sampling the various shades of pink and purple as the colour gradually washed out. Doing this for the holidays has worked well as a distraction from making any permanent changes brought on by the winter blues. But I am a bit of a hair chameleon , and who knows what the New Year will bring, but lets just keep those changes ‘gradual’, eh? Happy 2015 y’all!
